Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th, 1980) was an American actress, singer, and dancer. Her early Broadway shows include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. For her role as Essie in You Can't Take It With You she was awarded the Tony Award. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with directors and actors both on screen and stage for the entirety of her professional career. Ashford's next project will be an exclusive Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently in production on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The movie will air on Disney DTC in the form of it becomes a Hulu Original. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford will make a return appearance on Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The same team that created Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at control of the production. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. In two seasons, Ashford was a star of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it included Ben Vereen as well as Hector Elizondo. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. Ashford is an Denver resident who splits her time in Los Angeles.
